RANDY JONES
PROGRAM MANAGER
Randy "The Voice of the Vikings" Jones has seen his radio career come full circle. Jones is now officially back home at WRVS-FM 89.9 ECSU in Elizabeth City, North Carolina where his radio career first began in 1991. As a student-volunteer at WRVS, Jones began crafting his radio style by serving as an on-air announcer during "Nightwinds" weeknights from 10pm to 1am. He also served as the play-by-play announcer for the Viking Sports Network and co-host of the award-winning program, 89.9 SportsScope, which Jones created along with fellow Vikings, Carlos "The Guru" McCormick and Richard "Valentine" Flood in 1994. 89.9 SportsScope was the first radio/talk show from WRVS-FM 89.9 ECSU to win a Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals' Excel Award in 1993 and 1994.
